You cannot avoid the sun no matter how you try. But you can do steps to minimize its harmful effects.

Use a sunscreen

Always use a sunscreen, preferably with higher SPF, to maximize protection. Don’t forget to reapply every two hours. If you have dry skin, you may opt for a moisturising sunscreen. Cover Up

For added protection, cover up. Wear a hat or a top with long sleeves to avoid direct sun exposure. Avoid going out between 9 and 3 pm, when sunlight is too intense.

Do not take your eyes, lips, ears, hand, and neck for granted. They, too, need protection against the sun’s damaging UV rays. Wear sunglasses and use a wide hat to cover up the entire face and neck. Apply sunscreen with at least 15 SPF on hands.

Know the medication that makes the skin more sensitive

Medications like diuretics cause the skin to become more sensitive to sun damage. Get information from your doctor if you are taking any drugs. As much as possible, avoid going out too, or use sunscreen and cover up. Skin health is at risk of damage whenever you are exposed to the sun.
